Ich bin trotz Grippe mit Hochgefühl von meiner Kurzreise durch Süddeutschland und Westösterreich zurückgekehrt. Es war nett dort. Über Dillingen habe ich ja schon in einem früheren Eintrag geschrieben, in Vorarlberg ist es eigentlich immer äußerst nett und von Stuttgart war ich positiv überrascht.
Der Hauptgrund für das Hochgefühl: ich habe einige nette neue Bekanntschaften gemacht und einen Haufen alte FreundInnen getroffen. Ich war auch einige Tage nur ganz wenig am Computer. Das kommt dazu, vor allem, da ich die Tage davor kaum vom Gerät weg kam.
Herr Thomas Rau würde mich jetzt wahrscheinlich schon bremsen, mit dem was man schreiben darf, aber soviel habe ich ja noch nicht preisgegeben. Die Diskussion, die Her Rau darüber in Dillingen anzettelte, was man in seinem Blog schreiben darf bzw. nicht, lässt mich nicht in Ruhe. Da will ich auch bei Ihm noch einmal nachfragen. Ich habe gestern auch auf Papier ein Posting dazu angefangen, da bin ich dann aber gedanklich nicht weiter gekommen. Das Thema wurde dann zu “kronig“.
Eigentlich wollte ich ja heute über soziale Netzwerke weiter denken, das war ein weiterer Schwerpunkt in Dillingen. Das muss später folgen, sonst wird das Posting wieder zu lange. Heute dazu nur einleitend. Das Voki geht, zwischenzeitlich zumindest, dafür werde ich eine PollDaddy Umfrage starten. Poll Daddy ist ein Web 2.0 Service, das einem erlaubt, Umfragen und Abstimmungen einfach auf die eigene Webseite zu stellen. Es eignet sich auch ganz gut für den Englischunterricht. SchülerInnen können zum Beispiel gemeinsam eine Umfrage erarbeiten und diese dann anderen vorstellen, LehrerInnen können durch eliciting eine Umfrage vom Start weg mit einer Klasse zu einem Thema kreieren. Als Themen bilden sich authentische Situationen rund um Schule und Umfeld an.
Ich denke, dass sich das Werkzeug ganz gut dazu eignet, Trends und Vorlieben von LeserInnen bzw. Webseiten BesucherInnen zu eruieren, wie das digg ja mit großem Erfolg vorzeigen. Werde ich dann gleich mal ausprobieren.
Heute wurde ich von einer Studentin gefragt, was denn das erste sei, was man LehramtsstudentInnen beibringen soll. Da war ich erst mal ganz baff, ich hatte zuvor noch nie über eine mögliche konkrete Gliederung von LehrerInnenausbildungsinhalten reflektiert. Ich habe mich dann nie wirklich erholt und trotzdem denke ich, dass ich die Antwort wieder so geben würde, wie ich sie gab, etwas reflektierter vielleicht. Was ist es nun wirklich, was angehende LehrerInnen zuerst hören sollen?

Typically, there are one or a few people interviewing one or a few, and us listening. Why not invite people to participate in the podcast, to ask the questions and interact with the guests…and each other?
So was born Waxxi’s Interactive Podcasts. The invitation is open to anyone who wants to be a part of the experience, and have the chance to ask our guests a question, or comment on something relative to the topic.

A few podcasts tell stories: one such site is Story Nory, a podcast that features stories from Bertie the frog; among the stories told you can find fairy tales, fables and many more. You can download the story via iTunes or listen to it online. The site features among my favorites “Alice in Wonderland” in installments with a wonderful voice to read it. Cinderella is the all time favorite according to their blog. There are quite a few other story podcasts available; Sometimes I read stories with my students and then have them listen to them or listen to parts of the stories with them.
Most emailed articles – this has become quite a popular feature on the Internet. When you read an interesting piece of news or see an interesting cartoon, you may want to share it with a friend. Providers of websites and magazines often include a feature which makes emailing this quite easy. This feature often has names like “Email this article to a friend” and makes it easy to send a news piece to another person, but also gives newspapers a chance to see, where the interests of their readers are.
Find out what NYTimes.com readers are most interested in today. James Barron, a reporter at The New York Times, summarizes the three most e-mailed articles every weekday.
This podcast could be used to have the students write out the article after listening to the podcast and then identify the articles from the online paper. I think it could also be great for summarizing skills.
